About Hegi Khajavi, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Irvine, California
I believe therapy should be a place where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself.
People often come to therapy when something in their life or relationships no longer feels manageable. You may be experiencing anxiety or depression, struggling in your relationship, dealing with family or parenting concerns, or carrying the effects of painful experiences from your past.
My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where we can understand what you're experiencing and work together toward meaningful and lasting change.
My Approach to Therapy
I don't believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all.
Every person comes to therapy with a different history, personality, relationship experience, and set of circumstances. I meet my clients where they are and work collaboratively with them to develop an approach that fits their individual needs and goals.
Our work may involve understanding patterns that keep repeating, improving communication and relationships, developing healthier ways of coping with difficult emotions, or processing experiences from the past that continue to affect you today.
Most importantly, I want therapy to feel like a partnership.
Areas I Work With
I work with adults, couples, and families experiencing concerns including:
Anxiety and depression
Trauma and difficult past experiences
Relationship and marital difficulties
Communication and conflict
Parenting and family concerns
Stress and major life transitions
Emotional and relationship patterns that feel difficult to change
EMDR Therapy
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a psychotherapy approach commonly used in the treatment of trauma and distressing life experiences.
For clients who may benefit from EMDR, we can discuss whether it is appropriate for your particular situation and incorporate it into treatment when clinically appropriate.
Online Therapy
I offer telehealth sessions for clients located throughout California.
Online therapy can be especially helpful for clients whose work schedules, commuting time, parenting responsibilities, or other circumstances make regular in-office appointments difficult.
Let's Talk
Choosing a therapist is a very personal decision, and finding someone you feel comfortable with matters.
